Who we are
comeliveipl7 is an independent cricket news desk running in India. We are not affiliated with the BCCI, the IPL, any franchise, any broadcaster, any fantasy operator, or any sports-betting company. The desk is funded by subscription revenue (when we choose to charge for it) and the proceeds of a single-page sponsorship on the homepage, with no commercial endorsements on individual pieces.
The eight bylined writers on the site rotate through the four city desks (Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi and Kolkata) and a fifth stats-focused desk. Each city desk has one lead reporter and one support reporter; the stats desk has two. A sub-editor and a managing editor review every piece before publication.
What we publish
Five kinds of pieces, in roughly this proportion: match reports (40%), tactical analysis (20%), player and team profiles (15%), fantasy-cricket explainers and picks (15%), opinion and editorials (10%).
We do not publish wire copy. Every piece on the site is written by a desk reporter. Where we cite another publication, we link back to it; where we cite a press conference, we say who said what and on what date.
How we work
Match reports are written within an hour of a match ending. Tactical pieces are typically scheduled at the end of a matchday and published the next morning. Profiles are weekly. Fantasy explainers are weekly. Opinions are Friday pieces unless there is breaking news to react to.
Each piece goes through a sub-editor review and a managing-editor review. The desk also publishes a corrections log when a piece is wrong, dated and named at the top of the article.
Why independent
Independence is a working condition of editorial. We have no commercial relationship with the IPL's commercial partners, with the franchises, with the broadcasters, or with any fantasy or sports betting operator. If you spot a piece that implies otherwise, that is a mistake, and please flag it to the desk.
